Why is An-22 being Retired?

The Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) have opted to discontinue the use of the Antonov An-22 “Antey” turboprop transport planes, which are genuinely legendary and originate from the Soviet Union. Lieutenant General Vladimir Benediktov of the VKS’s Military Transport Aviation was among the first to announce this. Operations of the An-22 are anticipated to cease entirely by the end of 2024. So! why is Russia retiring a plane that has withstood the test of time?
